Moving the Blog to Movable Type
Sorry for the trashing but I am moving to Movable Type. I wanted to build this site under Word Press and I was impressed with the vast array of tools of WP. I was particularly impressed with the design tools that the blogging environment has.
However, I was spending too much time trying to figure out PHP. Since this blog is about a discussion on Intranet Blogging and not about having the most stunning design I decided to move to Movable Type, the platform I am most familiar with. All the posts have been moved and soon I will move all the comments too.
A few changes, so please update your settings and links for this blog:
Main URL is now: http://intranetblogging.com
Feed is now under Feedburner, so URL is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/IntranetBlogging
Thanks for your support.

welcome to MT...i actually played around with MT for about 2 minutes before installing wordpress. I'm not a php guru either, but MT seemed to be too cumbersome to install and so I gave up on it :-).
But regardless, the point is about the discussion, not the framework - however, this might play into your technology decisions when creating a blogging platform internally.
I'm always curious why a company would go with a more "closed source" product like what we have, vs. something like MT or wordpress that has numerous extensions and capabilities. I suppose maintenance is easier when it's a company supported product - and you run less risk of rogue plugins, but still, seems like we too often make ourselves victims to what another company will program for us.

Thanks for your warm welcome, I was feeling a bit defeated by having to move against my will.
